1. Fees and Payment Policy

  • Deposit Requirement: A reservation is secured only after completing the payment of a 50% deposit of the total trip fee.

  • Surf Tax: According to Mentawai Islands government regulations, surfing guests must pay the surf tax in person at the ferry port. The fee is IDR 2,000,000 per person (approximately NTD 4,000, subject to the exchange rate on-site). The tax permit is valid for 15 days.

  • Exclusions: The trip fee includes only the agreed-upon land/island services. The following items are NOT included in the trip fee and must be arranged and paid for by the guests:

    • Mentawai Surf Tax

    • Indonesian Visa

    • International and domestic airfares

    • Airport transfers

    • Padang city accommodation

    • Ferry and speedboat tickets between Padang city and Sikakap Port

    • Personal travel inconvenience insurance, personal overseas travel accident insurance, and other personal expenses

2. Cancellation, Amendment, and Refund Policy

  • 30 days or more prior to check-in: Written notice of cancellation received 30 days (inclusive) or more prior to the check-in date will receive a full refund of the deposit paid.

  • Within 30 days of check-in: For cancellations made within 30 days of the check-in date, the deposit paid will be strictly non-refundable.

  • Force Majeure & Transportation Delays: If public transportation such as ferries or speedboats are canceled or delayed due to weather, mechanical breakdowns, or any other factors—resulting in itinerary delays or inability to fulfill the booking—the company will not refund any fees paid. Guests are strongly advised to purchase travel inconvenience insurance that covers cruise/ferry cancellations or delays to mitigate potential financial losses.

3. Weather Conditions and Safety Adjustments

  • All daily itineraries are subject to flexible adjustment based on the day's weather and ocean conditions.

  • In the event of adverse weather or sea conditions, the company reserves the absolute right to cancel or modify boat outings and surf sessions prioritizing the safety of every guest. Guests shall not request compensation on these grounds.

4. Mandatory Insurance and Risk Disclaimer

  • Personal Risk Assessment and Waiver: Surfing is an activity involving inherent high personal risks. Surf coaches on duty will provide professional safety advice based on guests' surfing abilities; however, guests must assume ultimate responsibility for their own safety and conduct. The company and coaching team accept no legal liability or responsibility for any personal injury, property loss, or accidental occurrence resulting from individual actions, weather/sea conditions, unexpected environmental situations, or unforeseen factors.

  • Mandatory Insurance Requirement: To protect personal rights and safety, all guests participating in surfing activities are required to purchase valid Overseas Travel Accident Insurance on their own, ensuring that the policy explicitly covers high-risk sports activities such as surfing.

  • Right to Deny Service: Guests must present valid proof of insurance prior to departure. If a guest fails to acquire insurance that complies with these regulations, the company reserves the right to refuse surfing activities and all related package services without issuing a refund of any fees paid.
